Balfour Beatty Construction
(January 2012)--USF SafetyFlorida presented Balfour Beatty Construction with a Sunshine State Safety Recognition Award for its Lemon Bay High School project.
The 48-acre, three-stage project was completed on an active high school campus and consisted of two miles of underground storm water drainage, a partial reconstruction of the main energy plant, and the construction of a gym and three-story classroom building. The project added 350,000 square feet of new and remodeled space, improved utilities, athletic areas, landscape and hardscape. The project began in June 1, 2010 and was completed December 2011. On an average day approximately 71 employees could be found working on the site.
USF SafetyFlorida was pleased to assist the construction firm with a worksite safety and health consultation last fall.
