Brian Warrick

Dr. Brian L. Warrick has joined the University of South Florida (USF) as Program Manager, OSHA Consultation Program at the College of Public Health. In this role, Brian leads the efforts of providing assistance to Florida Employers in developing effective health and safety programs towards a goal of improving employee workplace health and safety conditions. Since 2000, USF SafetyFlorida Consultation program has been providing onsite workplace safety and health consultation services to small, high hazard, private sector employers in the state of Florida.

Brian brings more than 30 years of leadership experience in the field of environmental, occupational health and safety (EHS) including twenty years as an US Air Force officer. He served as Executive Vice President, Corporate Health and Safety Officer and Director for two global infrastructure and environmental services firms and a Fortune 500 manufacturing company, respectively. Dr. Warrick served as the company expert on fundamental safety and health programs and was charged with shaping the firms’ EHS strategy, mentoring a global talent pool and ensuring a healthy and safe working environment for employees worldwide. Most recently, as the Global EHS Senior Manager for a major mining company, Brian was instrumental in the Management System improvements.

As an US Air Force officer, he held multiple leadership positions and was responsible for ensuring a safe, healthy working environment for the largest American community in Europe, 49k members. He led worldwide ES&H teams with phenomenal risk reduction effort at deployed locations and provided significant technical oversight for a $26M clean-up technology to the highly toxic chemical weapons destruction operations. He was hand selected for a fellowship at the Air Force Surgeon General’s office and developed the AF policy on HAZMAT response.

Dr. Warrick earned his PhD degree in Organizational Management and a MS degree in Environmental Science. He is a board-certified Safety Professional (CSP) and Industrial Hygienist (CIH) and past president of the West Florida Chapter of American Society of Safety Engineer (ASSE). He is an experienced presenter, trainer and a published author and an advisory Board Member to the Sunshine Education & Research Center, University of South Florida. Brian and his wife currently live in Ocala, Florida and have two grown daughters away for University studies.
